My mission statement:

I help clients to examine, accept and adapt themselves so that they can make the most of their opportunities to build the balanced, contented life that they want.

My name is Andy Hilton and I live in beautiful rural Cumbria.

I am a professional life coach and hold an Advanced Diploma in Personal Performance Coaching from The Coaching Academy - Europe's largest coach training body.  The Coaching Academy training course is accredited by the Open College Network.

I offer coaching, training and support for individuals and organisations and specialise in working with charitable and third sector organisations.  I have a particular passion for supporting people with a disability or long-term health condition to help them fully integrate into the workplace and life in general.

I am Chair of the Cumbria Coaching Network - a group of people with a professional or personal interest in coaching who live in or around Cumbria.

Background

I hold a B.Sc. degree in Physics from Durham University and am a Chartered Electrical Engineer. Before coming to coaching I spent a large part of my working life in industry  including  positions with Sales, Technical and Quality management responsibility. I have also been employed by Swindon College and by Oxfordshire County Council to deliver computer literacy training to disadvantaged people, and done voluntary work at the Swindon Foyer, a housing and personal development project for socially excluded teenagers.

I have learned that people are more important than ‘things’ and have been working on my own self development (an ongoing process!) while helping others along their way.  Through my broad range of working and personal experiences and my love of travelling, I have had the pleasure of meeting and working with people from a wide variety of backgrounds and cultures.  I would like all people within society to have equal opportunity to make the best of their life.

Coaching style

My desire is to work with each client in the way that works best for them.  I call on a wide range of coaching tools and techniques, but also on my life experiences to support the client in the direction that they want to go.

With some clients coaching on a practical level is required, that is deciding on practical things that they can do to change their situation.  With others, a deeper level is required to examine where limiting beliefs and personal barriers are coming from.  Within the first couple of sessions together, we will identify the right approach for your situation.

Most important:  I like to have fun.  Your life is important - let’s enjoy the process!

If you want to check out my style, give me a call for a no obligation discussion on how we might work together.

Insurance

I carry professional indemnity and public liability insurance.

Environment

I am committed to taking responsibility for my personal and my company's impact on the environment, and I encourage my clients an suppliers to do the same.  I hold a Gold Award from the Cumbria Business Environmental Network for developing sound environmental practices and procedures.
